Consent Manager (India)

In one lineIndia's shared service for managing user consent.

A Consent Manager is India's DPDP framework for a registered intermediary that lets people give, review, and withdraw consent across companies from one dashboard.

Set up under the DPDP Rules of 2025, a Consent Manager is a company registered with the Data Protection Board that runs a single interface where a person can manage every permission they have handed out. It works as a data-blind transport layer, moving the consent record between businesses without reading the underlying data.

Think of a user in Bangalore who agreed to tracking on five different services. Instead of hunting through five separate settings pages, they open one Consent Manager dashboard, see every active consent, and switch any of them off in a single place.

Registration is not casual, requiring incorporation in India and a minimum net worth of two crore rupees. The catch for you as an advertiser is that this centralizes withdrawal, so a person can pull consent across the board in one motion, and your data pipeline has to detect and honor that revocation fast.

One dashboard giveth, and one dashboard taketh away.
