The Reddit Pixel is a snippet of code on your site that reports back what visitors did after they saw or clicked your ad.

You place it in your site's header and it fires events, a page visit, a product view, an add to cart, a purchase, a lead. Those events feed conversion reporting, build Custom Audiences of people who took an action, and give oCPM the signal it needs to optimize. Without it, Reddit can show you clicks but nothing about what happened after the click.

You install the Pixel and tag Purchase on your thank-you page. Now Ads Manager shows purchases and revenue against each ad, not just clicks, so you can see the ad with fewer clicks actually drove more sales. That is the difference between guessing and reading.

Browser tracking loses events, and the Pixel alone undercounts. Ad blockers, privacy settings, and abandoned reloads mean a share of your conversions never reach Reddit from the browser. The Pixel is the floor of your measurement, not the whole of it, which is exactly why the Conversions API exists.

No Pixel, no idea what your clicks did.
