The conversions objective optimizes for a specific action on your site, like a purchase, a signup, or an add to cart.
You install the Reddit Pixel or send events through the Conversions API, define the action that counts, and Reddit optimizes delivery toward people likely to complete it. It bills on impressions but aims for the conversion, and it needs enough events coming back before it can learn who those people are.
Say you sell a paid course and count "purchase" as the conversion. You set up the pixel, run a conversions campaign, and early on the cost per purchase is high while Reddit gathers data. Once it logs enough sales, delivery tightens toward buyers and the cost per purchase settles to a number you can scale on.
Conversions optimization is only as good as your event tracking. If the pixel fires wrong or too few conversions come back, Reddit has nothing to learn from and delivery stays scattered. Verify events actually land before you trust the numbers.
You cannot optimize for an action you never measured.
