Conversation Placement puts your ad inside the comment thread of a post, in the space between the post and the replies people came to read.

You choose it as a placement when you set up delivery, and Reddit slots the ad into the gap users pass through on the way to the comments. That is the most leaned-in moment on the platform, someone who scrolled past the feed and tapped in to read what people are actually saying. The ad still looks native and still carries its own voting and comments.

A user opens a thread in r/homelab to read opinions on a network drive. Above the first comment sits your ad for a backup service. They were already in research mode for storage, so the placement catches attention a feed scroll would have slid right past.

Context is not the same as control. You choose the placement type, not the exact post your ad lands under, so the same backup ad can appear inside a thread that has nothing to do with storage. Watch placement reporting and exclude the communities where it keeps landing wrong.

You buy the seat in the conversation, not the conversation.
