The Quora Pixel is a JavaScript tag you place on your site to record visitor actions for tracking and retargeting.
You install the base tag on every page and event tags on the actions that matter, then Quora attributes conversions back to ad clicks and builds site audiences you can target. Without it you are flying on clicks alone and cannot tell which ad produced a customer.
You drop the base pixel sitewide and a purchase event on the thank-you page. Now a sale that started with a Quora click reports back to the exact ad, and you can retarget everyone who viewed the pricing page but did not buy.
Browser and cookie limits mean the pixel misses events. People trust the pixel number as complete truth and under-count conversions. It is a floor on what happened, not the full total, which is why you pair it with server-side tracking.
No pixel, no idea which ad actually worked.
