Keyword targeting matches your ad to Quora questions and content that contain the words you choose.
You hand Quora a list of keywords, and it shows your ad against questions and pages where those words appear. It sits between broad topic targeting and single-question targeting: wider than picking questions one by one, tighter than buying a whole topic.
You add the keyword "email marketing software." Your ad then runs across many questions that mention that phrase, from "best email marketing software for startups" to "is email marketing software worth it," and you never had to list each question by hand.
Keywords catch context you did not intend. A word like "free" or "cheap" drags in questions from people who will never pay, so your budget spends against the wrong readers. Review which questions your keywords actually matched, and exclude the ones that keep pulling the wrong crowd.
A keyword is only as good as the questions it lands on.
