Actalike Audience

In one linePinterest's lookalike audience.

An actalike audience is Pinterest's lookalike: a new audience of people whose behavior on Pinterest resembles a source audience you provide.

You give Pinterest a seed, a customer list, a visitor audience, or an engagement audience, and it finds users who act like that seed on the platform. The match is on behavior, on what people save, search, and click, not on demographic resemblance, which is the difference from how some other platforms frame the same idea. You set the size, wider for reach or tighter for similarity.

A candle brand seeds an actalike from its repeat buyers and reaches new people whose Pinterest behavior mirrors those buyers, without naming a single interest by hand.

The seed decides the quality. Feed it a big noisy list of every site visitor and you get a vague audience. The strongest actalikes come from small, clean seeds of proven buyers. People chase seed size when they should chase seed purity, and the model can only mirror what you hand it.

Garbage seed in, garbage audience out.
