A product feed is the file or live data connection that fills your catalog and keeps every price, stock level, and image up to date on a schedule.
You have a catalog sitting inside Commerce Manager, but something has to pour products into it and keep them current. That something is your feed. It might be a spreadsheet or CSV you upload, a URL that Meta fetches on a set schedule, or a direct sync from a platform like Shopify that pushes changes across as they happen. Whichever route you pick, the feed is the pipe between your store and the ads people actually see.
When it works, you barely think about it. You change a price in your store, the sync runs, and your catalog ads show the new number without you touching anything. Stock counts, titles, image swaps for a new season, all of it flows through the same connection on whatever cadence you set, hourly, daily, or on every change.
The honest catch is that a stale or broken feed ships wrong prices and sold-out items straight into live ads, and you often find out from an annoyed customer rather than a dashboard. Feed hygiene is the real work here. Set a scheduled sync you trust, check it after big price or inventory changes, and watch the diagnostics for rejected items instead of assuming green means good.
Your ads are only ever as fresh as the feed behind them.
