Asset Sharing / Partner Access

Partner access, sometimes called asset sharing, is how you let an agency or a freelancer work inside your ad account, your Page or your pixel without ever handing over ownership or your personal login.

Here is how it plays out when you hire someone. Your assets, meaning your ad account, your Page, your pixel and your catalog, sit inside your own Business Portfolio, which is the container you created and control. When the agency comes on board, you go into your settings and grant their business access to the specific assets they need, and you choose the permission level for each one. You might let them create and edit ads while keeping billing locked to you, or give one freelancer access to the Page but not the ad account at all. You can open that settings panel any day and see exactly which people and which partners are attached to each asset, and when the work is done you take the access away with one click.

This matters because it is the honest way to work with outside help. You get someone building and optimizing your campaigns every day, and you never give up the thing that took you months or years to build. If the relationship goes well, great. If it ends badly, you remove them and you keep every audience, every bit of pixel history and every follower on your Page, because none of it ever left your side of the wall.

The one warning that decides whether you keep your business or lose it: never give an agency your personal Facebook login, and never let them run your ads out of an account or a Page that sits inside their portfolio instead of yours. If they own the container, they own your history, your audiences and your Page, and the day you part ways you can walk out with nothing while they keep everything. Partner access exists precisely so that situation never has to happen, and in my view any agency that pushes you to skip it and just work off their account is telling you something about how the relationship ends. That is my own hard-won opinion, not a Meta policy, but I would treat it as a rule.

Give access, never ownership, and you can always walk away whole.
