Event Match Quality

Event match quality is a score in Events Manager that rates how well the customer information you send with an event lets Meta match that event to a real person.

You are sending events to Meta, but Meta can only act on them if it can tie each one back to an actual account. Event match quality is the gauge for that. Every time you send an event, you can attach customer parameters such as email, phone number, name, or location, hashed for privacy, and Meta scores how confidently it could match on that information. A higher score means more of your events find their person, which means better attribution and better optimization.

You will find the score sitting next to your events, and it is one of the few numbers that directly rewards better plumbing. When your match quality is weak, Meta is effectively half-blind to conversions it should be crediting to your ads, so your reporting looks worse than reality and the system learns slower. Push it up and the same ad spend starts finding more of the right people.

The honest catch is that raising it means sending more and better customer information, which is a privacy-sensitive job you have to do correctly. This data has to be handled and hashed properly, with the right consent, and it is usually improved through your Conversions API setup rather than the browser pixel alone. Treat it as a lever on signal quality that is tied directly to signal loss: the more the browser hides, the more this matching depends on the parameters you deliberately choose to send.

Better matching is not a setting you flip, it is cleaner customer data you choose to send, handled the right way.
