Matched Audiences

Matched Audiences is LinkedIn's set of custom audiences built from your own data: website retargeting, contact lists, and company lists.

You feed it first-party signal instead of profile attributes. Website retargeting uses the Insight Tag to rebuild audiences from site visitors, contact upload matches email lists to members, and company upload matches a list of account names. You then target or exclude those audiences like any other.

You upload a list of trial signups who never converted, LinkedIn matches them to member profiles, and you run a tailored offer only to that group. Anyone already a customer goes on an exclusion list so you stop paying to reach them.

Match rates are never one hundred percent. A contact list matches on the email tied to a member's profile, so a chunk of your list never matches, and small audiences may not clear LinkedIn's minimum size to serve at all. Upload more than you think you need and check the matched count before you build around it.

Your data, matched to their graph, minus the leakage.
