The Insight Tag is LinkedIn's site-wide JavaScript tag that powers conversion tracking and website retargeting.

You place one tag across your whole site, and it records which visitors came from LinkedIn and what they do afterward, building the audiences you retarget and feeding the conversions you count. One installation serves every campaign, so you do not add new code per campaign the way older setups required.

A marketer installs the Insight Tag once through their tag manager, then builds a retargeting audience of everyone who visited the pricing page and counts demo-request submissions as conversions, both off that single tag.

Browser tags miss a growing share of events. Ad blockers, cookie restrictions, and privacy controls stop the tag from firing for many visitors, so the Insight Tag alone undercounts conversions and shrinks retargeting pools, which is why LinkedIn added a server-side path beside it.

One tag runs the whole account, but it no longer sees everyone.
