Daily Budget

In one lineAn average daily spend, not a hard daily cap.

A daily budget is the average amount you tell Google to spend per day on a campaign, not a hard cap on any single day.

You set it and assume that is your ceiling, but Google treats it as an average. On days when it sees more people likely to click and convert, it can spend above your number, and on quiet days it spends less, aiming to even out over the month. In practice it can run up to two times your daily budget on a given day, so a 1,000 rupees daily setting can post a 2,000 rupees day and still be playing by the rules.

You are actually protected by a monthly limit, not a daily one. Google will not spend more than roughly 30.4 times your average daily budget in a month, that figure being the average number of days in a month. So the overspend on a busy Tuesday gets clawed back on a slow Sunday, and the month total lands close to where you set it.

The daily figure is an average, so do not read it as a wall. If your cash flow cannot absorb a single day at twice the number, watch the month rather than the day, and size the daily budget so that even a double day still sits inside what you can handle. The real ceiling is that monthly limit, and that is the number worth planning around.

Budget for the month you will actually get billed, not the day you set.
